2 days tour from fes to merzouga

Leave Fes at around 8:00 in the morning and go toward Merzouga. Ifrane, a small Switzerland in Morocco, will be the first stop. Here, you can have a cup of coffee and then see the Barbary apes in Azrou's cedar grove. After lunch, we travel over the Middle Atlas Mountains to Midelt, often referred to as Morocco's capital apple.

We continue across the Tizi-n-Talghemt pass, also known as the she-camel pass, and into the Ziz Valley, a palm tree-filled oasis with few traditional towns. There will be many stops along the route.

Arrive in Merzouga late in the afternoon. There will be camels and a guide ready to transport you to your desert tent over the Erg Chebbi Dunes. See an orange sunset from the top of a dune. After a lovely supper, the camp personnel will start the fire, so you can relax around it and listen to Berber music while stargazing.

We strongly recommend waking up early today to witness a magnificent and breathtaking dawn. We go to Rissani (the birthplace of the present ruling dynasty). If it's a Tuesday, Thursday, or Sunday market day, you may explore a real Moroccan market here. After that, return to Fez via Erfoud and cross the Ziz Valley once more. Dropping you off at your Fes lodging marks the end of your 2 day desert adventure.
